An example of an innovative face mask is called “hellomask”. The creator of the mask is Dean Ezekiel. The idea of this “hellomask” is inspired by his wife who is partially deaf and relies on lip reading. During the coronavirus pandemic, many companies were forced to shut down which had affected Dean’s career as he was working in the travel industry. It was very unfortunate for him as the travel industry was severely affected due to the closure of the border. With an entrepreneurial background skill, Dean decided to start a new company to innovate face mask which is an alternative to traditional medical masks that can help with communication for people who are deaf or impaired hearing. The University of Hertfordshire’s University Enterprise Zone (UEZ) had supported Dean with fundings throughout his research in England.
